SCHOLARSHIP

Tuition Assistance (Scholarship Program)

Windsor Islamic High School (WIHS) understands the importance of a quality Islamic education for the children of our community. Private Islamic schools rely heavily on their daily operations and expenses on tuition and fees collected from parents. WIHS, realizing that tuition cost may provide hardship to certain low-income families, will however try to do what it can to alleviate that financial burden. Therefore, WIHS provides sibling discounts, and scholarships.  While recognizing that the primary responsibility for financing a student’s independent school education remains with the parents, WIHS shall make every effort to provide tuition assistance to those who demonstrate financial need.

Tuition Assistance Policies:

Eligibility:

Applying scholarship does not impact student’s eligibility for admission.

Eligibility Determination:

The WIHS Board Committee evaluates each tuition assistance application and determines the financial need in a fair, consistent, and confidential manner. This is accomplished by examining all required documents; including family tax statements. The committee bases its decisions on the financial need of the family and the availability of the school’s financial aid funds for that particular year. Please note that the scholarship is limited to tuition only and is income-based. Parents are responsible for books, uniforms, transportation, and other school fees.

Confidentiality: All financial information received by the school will be held in the strictest of confidence.

Renewal: Applications must be submitted each year by the school deadline for a student to be considered for tuition assistance.

Tuition Assistance Amount:

Based on available funds for this category, as well as scholarship application details and verifications, the WIHS Board Committee will determine the amount/percentage of tuition assistance each application should receive.
